Fundraiser for the Art Gallery St. Sava – CANCELLED

Due to lack of interest and economic circumstances beyond our control we have been forced to cancel our fundraiser scheduled for this Saturday.

To those of you who have sent donations or reserved your place at our event will be receiving your checks within the next three to five business days.

Vigil of the Soul

On Saturday, May 17 at 7PM, the Serbian Cultural and Arts Center St. Sava (448 W. Barry Ave, Chicago) will hosts a showing of the documentary movies from the film festival Vigil of the Soul. Special guest will be the film director Srdjan Ilić.

The sponsors of the film festival were: Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Serbia, Serbian Unity Congress Illinois Chapter, UFTVRV, Fiks Fokus, Serbian TV.

Donation at the door is $7.

After the movies, come down to The Cave and mingle with the special guests — Serbian beauties of Chicago who are preparing for the beauty peagent Serbian Miss North America 2008 to be held next week!

Lecture Orthodoxy as Ecology of the Body, Soul and Spirit

Slava at St. Sava

Serbian Cultural and Arts Center Saint Sava invites you to celebrate its feast day (slava) Saint Sava on Saturday, January 26 at the Center at 448 W. Barry, Chicago, IL 60657. The kolach ceremony will be at 6:00 p.m; Father Cedomir Kostich will do the cutting of the kolach.

There will be a recital by the Children’s Theater and other guest children at 6:30 p.m. Slava banquet starts at 7:30 p.m. Sasa Kusevic will entertain the guests.

Vallet parking is available for the first 30 cars.

Everybody is welcome. Your donations are greatly appreciated — they will help the Center continue its mission in preserving Serbian heritage, language and culture.
