Eastern Blok, formerly known as The Goran Ivanovic Group, has been successfully packing venues throughout the country since their inception in 2005. Praised for their highly dynamic classical and jazz aesthetics infused with Balkan melodies, Eastern Blok maintains a timeless sound and virtuosic approach. Following the release of their latest CD, Folk Tales, Eastern Blok is pleased to announce they will be performing live in Chicago!

On Saturday, May 3, Eastern Blok will be performing a live concert in The Cave at the Serbian Cultural and Arts Center St. Sava. The concert begins at 10 PM. The price of admission is $8.

Eastern Blok is guitar virtuoso Goran Ivanovic, Doug Rosenberg on saxophone and flute, Matthew Ulery on bass, and Michael Caskey, a five-time Detroit Music Award and Downbeat Magazine Award winner, on drums. Eastern Blok has toured extensively throughout the United States, filling venues wherever they go. They have appeared on NPR and headlined the Chicago World Music Festival in 2007.
